Last weekend during our annual board meeting, Atava, Marcela and I welcomed our new, and first, member of our Advisory Board: Paul Kealoha Blake.
Kealoha is a Native Hawaiian who brings an abundance of experience and wisdom in running non-profits (he founded and is the Presiden of the East Bay Media Center) and working with Indigenous groups (he's on the board of the California Indian Storytellers Association). We appreciated his help with prioritizing and focusing on simplicity. I think we all breathed a deep releasing sigh at the end of our meeting, as well as feeling a sense of excitement.
We're now putting the call out to bring more people to our organization. If you'd like to be a volunteer, please contact us and let us know what you'd like to do; which skills would it be fun for you to donate? If you'd like to be on our advisory board, or know someone who would be a good advisor, please let us know that as well.
