Celtics Dreams
Our September 7th Circle of Ancestors presentation was great. Both Erin Langley and Teresa McColl shared their journeys of coming to know who they are through the process of remembering their heritage.
Erin Langley opened the night sharing her experience of how dreams and visions in the right cultural context are powerful tools that bring guides to her life’s journey of reconnecting with her own Celtic ancestral traditions. These visions lead her to the homeland of her people: Ireland.
Erin is an exceptional artist, and shared her art that is related to her dreams. The work reflects the intimate relationship between her images and the content of her dreams. She introduced us to a database that she developed to track ancestral dreams (www.dream-people.net). I highly recommend visiting this website!
She shared a dream message for her presentation about the white lions from Africa, introducing us to TSAU, the global lion protection trust, and the powerful message that the white lions bring to this present time. To the African elders, used to looking for spiritual signs in nature, the White Lions’ arrival was the fulfillment of ancient prophecy that identified these majestic creatures as angelic messengers from God. For more information visit www.whitelions.org, and I also recommended the book “Mystery of the White Lions.”
Teresa McColl shared her life’s journey, weaving her dreams and life experience, showing how interconnected they are. From her work in the biology field with the Salmon and Strurgeon she couldn’t separate her heart from her work and felt the call to work with animals and environment. In the Indigenous Mind Program she found that the way to do science from this perspective is not separate from life and who you are. In this process her ancestors, coming to her through dreams, visions, and synchronicities lead her to embrace a soulful life, become an environmental activist and continuou her ancestral remembrance work.
She shared some advice about cultivating ancestral dreams that she received from Aleut Elder, Ilarion Merculief:
1- Don’t get attached
2- Watch carefully in the dream: be a witness
3- Be careful of the Ego
4- Looks at fears when they emerge
5- Integrate the emotions that come up with the dreams into a walking life.
6- Don’t get in the way of someone’s else process
Linda Joslin closed the evening with a prayer. Both presentations inspired me and reminded me how powerful our lives can be when we embrace the work of remembering who we are through reconnecting with our ancestral roots. Many doors are waiting for us to be open and we only need to show up.
Thanks again for our support circle of friends and participants. Thank you for showing up and creating the space to hold our presentation.
Very special thanks to Erin and Teresa for this great experience!
