Four Arrows Ceremony Will Be Led By Toltec Elder & Wisdom Keeper Tlakaelel
Special Guest Elder & Wisdom Keepers Woableza (Lakota) & Tata Erick (Mayan) will be suporting Tlakaelel to help hold the sacred directions for the ceremony
The Four arrows Ceremony was created in 1990 by Tlakaelel with other Native Elders to honor the four colors of humanity and their contributions over 48,000 years of history. The ceremony reminds us that we are four colors of humanity and their mixtures but one human race, and that we all are citizens of one small planet Earth, truly cosmic citizens. It is a ceremony in which all present may participate, each giving honor to all of our human ancestors.
Tlakaelel tells us; " The Ceremony of the Four colors is an effort from the indigenous peoples to inspire the new generations to work for peace and Dignity among all the people of all the colors and their mixtures who inhabit this planet in which live , so we can improve it to leave it to the coming generations better than how we received it. We are planting the sacred seed that believes in the greatness of the ancient civilizations, that have been in silence the last five centuries."
Tlakaelel, along with Slow Turtle, Wildcat, Big Toe, and Chief Windsong developed the Four Colors Ceremony (an inspiring and unifying ceremony which honors the four directions and the four colors of humanity). The Four Colors Ceremony was first conducted in 1990 at Watuppa, the Wampanoag reservation in Freetown, Mass. during the Peace camp held there, and Tlakaelel has since brought the ceremony to many parts of the U.S. and Canada, and around the world.
In it's 20 years of existence, The Four colors Ceremony has been conducted in many countries, including England, Wales, Fiji, Holland, Germany, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Canada, and many places in the USA, including Philadelphia in 1992, during the Peace and Dignity Journeys, Boston many times, Sterling Mass, during the Peace and Dignity camp, Austin, TX during the Four Directions conference,Boston during the Five Colors gathering, Flint and Detroit Michigan, and Hartford, New London and Storrs, CT. Many other places as well.
Elders such as Wildcat, Slow Turtle, Chief Windsong, Whippoorwill have participated many times, and Dick Gregory and other notables participated in Texas. Various Mayors and other notables have participated in various places as well.
